ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way educational institutions operate. Learning activities including grinding machines must adapt to a socially distanced learning environment, or to virtual classrooms, using online teaching materials. This study aims to;(1) describe the development of online teaching materials, including independent teaching materials, and video tutorials on Grinding Machine Operation;(2) describes the results of feasibility testing by experts, and (3) describes the results of testing the effectiveness of teaching materials substitution of Shop-talk grinding machines. The development of grinding machine teaching materials is carried out through Research and Development (R&D) adopting the Plomp model, the steps include;Preliminary research;Development or Prototyping;and Assessment. As test subjects, there were 39 students, who in 2020/2021 took the Grinding Machining course. Data were collected using questionnaires, multiple choice tests and performance tests to compose the WPS. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results of the development of teaching materials show: (1) the online teaching materials developed include;supplementary teaching materials for Shop-talk substitution, and grinding machine tutorial videos;(2) online teaching materials developed, based on expert judgment, are very suitable to be used as teaching materials for Grinding Machines;(3) the developed online teaching materials are effectively used for Grinding Machining training. The average test score for compiling WPS is 78. Of the 26 students, 18 of them (69.2%) were able to achieve the minimum mastery criteria for teaching materials. © 2023 Author(s).

ABSTRACT

Engineering education is an important part of preparing quality graduates for the challenges of the Covid-19 and post-pandemic conditions, and electronics engineering education is no exception. Blended learning-based projects as an alternative to innovative learning at this time. This study aims to explore and explain the application of blended learning-based projects in electronics engineering education courses. The research method used is a project-based product design and development carried out by blended learning. We conduct our project activities in higher education special students from Electronic Engineering Education that take part in the learning of this project. Students who participate are only limited to small groups to avoid the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, in 1 small group consisting of 3-5 people and there is 1 group leader who manages the work, while other members are supportive and help complete joint projects. The results of this study show the ability of students to work by implementing project-based learning in producing products, namely Exhaust Fan products based on Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) as a form of a mini prototype that can be used for small household scale industries. The ability of students to work on product manufacturing by applying the principles of project-based learning in the category already has the ability to, skilled and thoroughly working on the project that was planned until it succeeded in becoming a product prototype which was carried out in a project-based blended learning. © 2022. ABSTRACT

Students experience various essential changes related to their psychological conditions during their education in college. Students' adaptability to the demands of these changes will give birth to new skills for the next stage of psychological development. However, academic stress, social problems, career, and personal-emotional problems can hinder the productivity and development of students in terms of mental health. This issue increased with the new-normal life during the COVID-19 pandemic, which also impacted the education process. For this reason, it is necessary to have a mobile-based online psychological assessment to map the mental health conditions of students during the pandemic. This study aims to develop and validate an Android-based online psychological assessment application to map students' mental health conditions. This study involved ten experts in counseling and software development, five counselors, and 638 users of the POTENSIA application. According to application development needs, data analysis using Aiken's V coefficient test, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and Rasch Model Analysis. The results of the study prove that the application is considered valid and practical to use. The effectiveness of the application is considered very good in mapping the mental health conditions of students. © 2021. All Rights Reserved.
